Study Association IK provides members with the opportunity to have hands-on experience in managing projects within these respective committees. This allows for members to connect between each other and gain work experience outside of school work. 

Act Committee

The Arts Cooperation Theatre Committee is a collaborative committee of several associations
within the Arts Faculty. Like all the other years, IK recruits 2 members that would be our representatives in the committee. The committee members will be responsible for organising a play. Besides the opportunity to be active in the theatre field and expand your network, being a part of this committee is a great opportunity to meet and work with people outside of the association.

Almanac Committee

The Almanac Committee is responsible for documenting the association and preparing IK’s annual yearbook. The yearbook is a way for IK members to look back on their year and admire all the fun activities and events they had and reminisce on them. Through the committee you will work in close contact with the association members and document their student lives. Additionally, members will gain practical knowledge in editing and creating media.

Career Committee

The Career Committee is responsible for organising two events, a Networking Event where speakers from many different fields relating to our programme will talk about their experience and tips in the industry, and a Career Day where they will organise a trip to a field relevant company to give participating students insight about prospective job opportunities. The Career Committee is a great way to expand your individual network, create relationships with professionals in the field and gain practical networking skills.

Conference Committee

The Arts Conference Committee organises a conference consisting of different lecturers and academics alongside interactive workshops held by professionals in the field, all in relation to the theme chosen by the committee. The conference also consists of a Q&A sessions where ACM
students will get the opportunity to discuss academics and further expand their professional network. The members of the committee will have to work closely with the staff of the programme as the Arts Conference is planned to be integrated in the ACM week. The Arts Conference Committee will bring you in close contact with a lot of external parties and will help you gain practical knowledge in professional event organisation.

Excursion Committee

The Excursion Committee is responsible for organising two trips. The first one is a one-day excursion somewhere within the Netherlands relating to a cultural event/festival/exhibition. The
second one is IK’s annual trip abroad. All responsibilities from the location, accommodation, events, etc. will be up to the Committee to decide and organise. The Excursion Committee is a wonderful way to gain experience in organising group events, while satisfying your thirst for experiencing the arts.

Film committee

The Film Committee writes, shoots, directs and produces a short length film, as well as planning the movie’s premiere night. The Film Committee is an opportunity to materialise the knowledge you have acquired/will acquire in your ACM courses and obtain hands-on experience in the film-making field. It is a chance to have your creative voice heard and to work together with other film-passionate students to make your creative visions come to life!

Media Committee

The Media Committee acts differently from all the other committees of IK, as they will not be assigned a specific project, but instead will be documenting them. Media committee is responsible for the creative output in IK’s social media platforms, like Instagram and TikTok, as well as the documentation of IK’s events. The Committee members gain practical experience in photography, editing and social media management, as well as getting in contact with various people within the association.

Museum Committee

The Museum Committee is responsible for organising an Arts Salon. This salon can take every shape or form and the exhibited artefacts are totally up to the committee members to decide on. Being part of the committee, you will learn to communicate, select, motivate and cooperate with artists whose works will be presented at the Arts Salon. In addition, the Museum Committee provides you with the opportunity to get to know the visual arts scene better, get contacts within the field and build your event planning skills.

Music Committee

The Music Committee organises two music events where any musical talent of the city or beyond, have the possibility to perform a musical act and showcase their skills. By being part of the Music Committee everything from the acts, the theme, the venue, all of it is up to you to decide and create. You get to satisfy your love for the music industry and put your skills to practise. You also get to expand your network as well as gain practical knowledge in event planning, including getting in contact with venues and sponsors.

Party committee

The Party Committee is responsible for organising art-student-worthy parties. The Party Committee is responsible for two parties: The Mid-term Party and the End-Of-The-Year Party. Besides being THE life of the party, committee members will gain practical knowledge in event planning, including getting in contact with venues and sponsors, creating a promotional plan and everything else revolving around ensuring their events are absolute successes.

Publishing Committee

The Publishing Committee is responsible for releasing IK’s monthly magazine. A new volume of the IK magazine will be released monthly, consisting of artworks from the students of our programme, articles recommended by our lecturers and many more, it is all up to you! Being part of the committee will give you the chance to gain creative writing skills as well as gain experience in designing, planning and getting in contact with sponsors and academics.

The Theatre Committee is responsible for directing and producing a theatre play. The play can take a more traditional form or explore with a postmodern approach to theatre productions – the stage is yours to set. The Theatre Committee is the perfect committee to do a hands-on project that combines your love for creating and acting and to practice the new or old set of skills ACM courses will provide you with.
